first_imgSoon we’ll get our first taste of Modern Warfare 3. The site findmakarov.com has posted a countdown time that tells us that in 4 days and 20 or so hours we’ll learn something about one of 2011’s most highly awaited games. That’s all we know for now, but you can bet we’ll learn more in about 5 days, during GDC (which runs from February 28 – March 4th).Vladimir Makarov, as dedicated Call of Duty fans will recall, was the leader of a terrorist cell in Modern Warfare 2. Makarov played a crucial role in the game and while he was a target, he was eventually allowed to escape so that General Shepard could be tracked down and killed. It was only assumed that Makarov got away at the end of the game, but based on the teaser’s URL it’s probably safe to assume that the game has to do with tracking him down and holding him accountable for his role in MW2.Plus we know that Soap, Price and McTavish have a bone to pick with Makarov, though before they kill him my guess is only he can prove they are not the traitors Shepard made them out to be.You can watch the timer or check in for the big unveil at findmakarov.com.last_img read more

first_img Derrick Hall satisfied with D-backs’ buying and selling Comments   Share   Georgia running back Todd Gurley is the most common selection, showing up on eight different mock drafts this month. Wisconsin All-American Melvin Gordon appears on five. The Cardinals do have a need at the RB position, and speculation is that they would be interested in Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson in a trade, although a lot of chips would have to fall into place for that to happen. If those chips don’t fall, Arizona could dip into the deepest group of running backs to enter the draft in several years. The most common defensive name to show up in draft projections at #24 for Arizona is Oregon defensive end Arik Armstead, who appears in six mock drafts. Armstead is an imposing physical figure, standing 6-foot-7 and weighing in at 292 pounds. In all, 19 different players have been projected to the Cardinals in the 48 separate mock drafts in March. Other names that show up more than once are LSU cornerback Jalen Collins, Kentucky edge rusher Alvin “Bud” Dupree, Wake Forest corner Kevin Johnson, Washington corner Marcus Peters, Virginia edge rusher Eli Harold, Mississippi State linebacker Benardrick McKinney, Florida State defensive lineman Eddie Goldman and UCLA defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa.
