first_imgThe Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) will be hosting 15 community consultations across the state with the aim to improve government services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. “Victoria is one of the most multicultural places in the world, and we want to make life here better for everyone,” said chairperson of the VMC, Mr Chin Tan. Victorians are being encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to provide feedback and attend at least one of the sessions. Staff from the VMC and other government agencies will also be present at the consultations to answer any questions and provide support. “The feedback and information we get from people can be used by the VMC to ensure that government departments and agencies’ services and outcomes are improved for everyone.” As part of the consultations, grant workshops will also be held to provide advice on how people from a variety of multicultural community groups can gain access to some of the $5.6 million in grants funding available. “We look forward to hearing from everyone and working with all Victorians to continue making this a great place to live,” said Mr Tan.
